Summer festivals
The biggest summer festival is held at four local shrines, Yasaka, Udo, Tachibana, and Homusubi. There is also a Mikoshi, which is a portable shrine that is carried throughout the town, while drummers beat drums there. The participants appear heroic as they march through the streets creating a festive atmosphere.
