Takanabe chef retainer clan house, Kuromizu house
It is called the Karou (chief retainer's) mansion where the chief retainer, and his family, used to live. The Kuromizu family members had worked for the Akizuki clan as a chief retainer and had been a tactical teacher for many generations. It is not clear when the building was actually made, but it is estimated that the house was built between 1804 and 1827 by the structural format. Samurai houses with thatched roofs are very rare and precious cultural heritage.
